Goodera, the global leader in virtual volunteering announced their 10K for Racial Equality Campaign for 2022. The campaign, released in 2021, encouraged companies to take more proactive steps towards fighting racial discrimination within the workplace and society. At its heart, the campaign aims to empower 10,000 employees to volunteer for racial equality in 2022.

This year, the 10K for Racial Equality campaign will look to add more companies onto the racial justice roster, beginning with events centered around Martin Luther King Jr. Day in January. The American leader’s birthday will be the starting point for companies to onboard and associate themselves with the campaign.

By participating in these events, companies can empower their employees to take actionable steps towards fighting towards the cause. Racial inequality is at the core of the growing awareness of the absence of secular representation in the communities. The aim of the campaign is to help companies play their part in overcoming systemic racism and create a secure environment for diverse groups.

To express support for diversity and inclusion, Goodera’s 10K for Racial Equality provides a range of specially curated events from nonprofits across the nation.

The campaign encompasses a diverse range of events from creating flashcards to increasing awareness in schools, assisting businesses owned by people of color, and encouraging youth at risk to continue their education.

The 10K for Racial Equality campaign has invited industry leaders to support the campaign as Ambassadors. Some of the leaders in the campaign have been Ursula Burns, Board member- Nestle, Uber, Exxon Mobil, Alix Guerrier, CEO, Global Giving and Board Member, Candid, Mark Levy, Ex-Global Head of Employee Experience, Airbnb. The ambassadors joining the wagon this year includes Janet Stovall, Senior Client Strategist at NeuroLeadership Institute, and Sara Murdock Head of People & Culture Advisory Services / Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging, Nevelab Technologies among others.

Abhishek Humbad, Goodera’s founder, says, “When we launched the 10K for Racial Equality campaign last year, we saw a tremendous response in how companies wanted to contribute towards this cause. It was heartwarming to see employees taking a strong stance against racial injustice and stepping forth to create change from wherever we are. This year, we’re increasing the number of events so that employees can choose exactly how they want to play their part, and we’ll facilitate the entire process for their companies to help them do so.”

The 10K for Racial Justice campaign can be accessed by companies worldwide. To participate, companies can register on the 10K website, and pick a virtual volunteering event that employees are interested in, and Goodera will connect them to the non-profit organization.
