Gold Coast Burleigh Heads Affordable Tyre Dealer Talks Quality Tyres Inspection

Keep your car dependable with tyres: Motorists need good tyres!

Your car’s tyres are the most crucial component of its overall health. They support the vehicle’s weight and keep it rolling smoothly. Having the proper tyre maintenance can help keep your car running smoothly.

Australian tyre recycler and founder of Branigans Tyres, Chris Lett, explains the importance of maintaining and inspecting a vehicles wheel alignment and braking system.

A motorist’s steering wheel can also shake if its braking pads are contaminated with oil or dirt. This can happen even if the pads are not damaged. Regular use of brake dust and other debris can also accelerate the deterioration of your tyres. A good-quality tyre-dressing product can help keep them looking their best for longer. “A quick blast with a pressure washer can remove all that grime and prevent your tyres from looking older for longer,” adds Lett.

“Aside from regular mechanical problems, there are also various reasons that can cause a vehicle to shake when braking,” says Lett. In most cases, this issue can make it unsafe to drive. “Fortunately, there are many factors that can help prevent this issue from happening again,” says Lett.

A vehicle’s components should regularly be inspected to prevent issues such as uneven tread wear and faulty brakes.

“It is crucial that motorists inspect the vehicle’s braking system and brake pads,” says Lett. Faulty shocks and brake pads can cause uneven tread wear and flat spots on the road. “Having them regularly inspected can help keep them in working order,” Lett adds.

“An alignment is a process that corrects the angles of tyres so that can come into contact with the roadway in the right way,” says Lett, “it can also prevent tyre wear and improve a smoother ride.

Proper wheel alignment is crucial to prevent premature wear on the inner surfaces of tyres. “Ideally, the wheels should be aligned with the rest of the vehicle,” says Lett, “if the wheels are out of balance, the tyres will eventually suffer”.

“There are many signs to look out for when considering wheel alignment, such as the steering wheel is steering the vehicle to one side of the road as it’s pulling; and worn tyre tread,” says Lett.
