Ethnic Gals Subscription Box Uses Science To Transform Hair Care And Self Care

Ethnic Gals was founded to provide personalized hair care products and guidance to curly-haired and Afro-haired women in the US. Ms. Mamie sought to learn about her own hair and then performed extensive research into how Black women’s hair is unique.  She realized that although there is an abundance of information online, there was no real platform that provided education for women about their hair and how to use certain products. Ethnic Gals was born out of Ms. Mamie’s commitment to bringing science and health into the afro and curly hair community.

Ethnic Gals LLC offers subscription haircare box services for afro and curly-haired women. The company’s boxes contain products, supplies, and information for each customer’s specific hair type. Unlike other hair care brands, Ethnic Gals guides consumers to select a haircare box based on their hair porosity, determined through an online questionnaire. By porosity, Ms.Mamie refers to hair structure and texture, which affects its absorption of water and moisture. Ethnic Gals is a platform for education that aims to empower women through beauty fundamentals, self-care practices, and scientific principles.

At its essence, Ethnic Gals believes that knowledge is power; knowing what products to buy and how to use them is essential.

Ethnic Gals is a platform for education that aims to empower women through beauty fundamentals, self-care practices, and scientific principles. At its essence, Ethnic Gals believes that knowledge is power; knowing what products to buy and how to use them is essential.

Ethnic Gals emphasizes the knowledge that hair texture is critical for determining what type of product is useful. Unfortunately, very few people are aware of their hair’s texture, therefore misunderstanding which products on the market can make or break their hair care routine. Through Ethnic Gals, customers will respond to a website questionnaire and be guided to purchase the appropriate box for their hair texture. Ethnic Gals has innovated a series of haircare boxes that are tailored to various hair textures. Each box includes a sleeping mask, satin bonnet, brush detangler, and hair oil for more specific hair-type care.

Ethnic Gals offer two types of boxes:

1) Low Porosity: This means that the hair structure doesn’t easily allow for moisture to be absorbed into the shaft, which makes it more difficult for water to saturate the hair when it is washed. This type of hair tends to repel moisture and can be more challenging to process and style.

3) High Porosity: This means that the structure of the hair allows for easy absorption of water, oils, and other types of products into the hair shift. On the flip side, when hair is highly porous, it may not retain moisture well.

Those who want to take their hair care journey into their own hands through the education and science offered by Ethnic Gals can do so today.

Growing long and healthy hair is around the corner.
