Embarcadero Technologies (https://www.embarcadero.com/) announced today the launch of a new Internet portal for InterBase, an award-winning multi-platform SQL database, along with expanded Visual Studio support through the release of new custom drivers that will enable Visual Studio programmers to target the InterBase database in their applications.
According to Kyle Wheeler, Embarcadero General Manager, the purpose of the new dedicated InterBase website is to deliver greater value, resources and support to InterBase’s global customer base. “InterBase’s advanced security and award-winning ChangeViews technology, which allows users to quickly answer the question “what data has changed since I last viewed it?”, are two key features that set it apart. We want to bring all the information and support around InterBase closer to our customers, and make it easier for them to use the wealth of available resources for their benefit, and now with increased support for Microsoft’s Visual Studio, that audience is growing!”
Embarcadero Technologies is also expanding Visual Studio support for InterBase with a new InterBase ADO.NET driver for Visual Studio. The driver, made available as a Nuget package and listed in the Visual Studio marketplace, offers Visual Studio 2019 IDE integration and full support for ADO.NET and the Entity Framework.
Marco Cantu, Embarcadero Product Manager, said: “I’m very pleased by the introduction of this NuGet package, which offers a great integration of InterBase with the Visual Studio IDE and the overall .NET platform. This initiatives makes is much easier for C# developers to use a very powerful cross-platform and embeddable database solution, a solution that is missing in the core .NET ecosystem.”
InterBase is a relational database management system (RDBMS) by Embarcadero Technologies. InterBase is distinguished from other RDBMSs by its small footprint, close to zero administration requirements, and multi-generational architecture. The server version runs on Microsoft Windows and Linux, while the embedded version runs also on macOS, iOS and Android.
