The New, State-of-the-Art Fitness Facility Will Be Located in The Hill Shopping Center and will Feature 9,000 Square-feet of Climbing, Expansive Fitness Offerings, and Studio-Quality Yoga

El Cap, the nation’s largest community of indoor climbing gyms, announced today plans to open its first Movement facility (formally planned as Planet Granite) in Dallas this October. The climbing, yoga, and fitness center will be located at 8021 Walnut Hill Lane and will be the first of El Cap’s two planned indoor climbing facilities for the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area.
The new gym will be housed in The Hill, a fresh, fun, and eco-friendly shopping center with a focus on conservation. The 37,000 square-foot space was designed as a net-zero energy building aligning with Movement’s purpose to empower personal transformation and inspire social and environmental impact. It will feature world-class bouldering under natural light, a yoga studio, an expansive weights and fitness area, a full line-up of introductory and advanced climbing classes, and a gear shop complete with expert advice.
Conveniently located on Walnut Hill Lane and Central Expressway, there’s ample parking and the gym will be just steps from the Walnut Hill stop on the Red Line (Dart System) and bus routes serving the same stop. Neighbors include several restaurants, a beer garden, and Trader Joe’s.
“We are extremely excited to be part of the community at The Hill and look forward to offering a space for everyone to gather and share adventures,” said Matt Hopkins, Movement Director. “And we have plans to enhance the community by opening a second facility in early 2022 in the iconic Design District!”
