Eat Right Atlanta Review 2021 – Healthy, Affordable and Locally Sourced

Eat Right Atlanta, founded by Donsha Johnson & Nicole Folkes-Johnson, delivers fresh fruits and vegetables all over Atlanta and the surrounding areas. The business has run since 2011 and was ranked the number 1 fresh produce delivery service in the USA by review website Review Rumble.

Since its debut in 2011, Eat Right Atlanta has grown to serve over 400 companies and families each week, and boasts a 5 star rating on Yelp. A box of their fresh produce feeds a family of four. They deliver to any area within 60 miles of Atlanta, assuring customers they have a cupboard full of fruit and vegetables for the week.

A large family vegetable box that feeds a family of 4-5 people for the week is $30 including delivery. The produce is freshly picked up daily from some local farms, and when local produce is less in winter, Eat Right Atlanta is able to supplement their produce with out-of-state produce.

They also have a fruit bag for $24 that you can select from a range of your favorite fruits. Due to seasonality, not everything is always available but they let you know and substitute it for something else. Customer reviews noted that “my kids love it so much they now go for fruit before anything else”.

But price and quality is not the only part of Eat Right Atlanta’s appeal. On closer inspection, the company has a lot more to love.

In 2021 they launched their first internship program, giving several 14-16 years olds the opportunity to learn the produce business. The company also focuses on the impact of unhealthy eating on underserved communities around Atlanta, so Eat Right Atlanta provides these communities with fresh food and vegetables. To this end, they’ve partnered with a local chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority in Atlanta to provide fresh fruits and vegetables for children at schools in East Point. Many children rely on their school for their meals, and oftentimes don’t have anything to eat on the weekend. So on Fridays, a bag or box of fruit and vegetables is delivered to their homes for the week.

The company, in partnership with My Style Matters (a local Cancer Support Group) has developed the Food2Fight program. With this program, they provide clean, pesticide-free produce, free of charge to women undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Also, they partnered with United Health Group’s COVID Prevention program in 2020 and 2021 where they handed out bags of fresh fruits and vegetables to people getting COVID tests in 2020 and to people getting the vaccine in 2021. Eat Right Atlanta also delivers fruit to offices as part of their Employee Wellness Programs where they’ve been replacing the vending machines with healthy fresh fruit.
