If you were to ask anyone who works for a living if they like what they do, how many do you think would say yes? It’s not something most can claim, but for one Arizona native, Joe Dwyer, it’s the lucky life that he leads. While the path wasn’t always smooth, he worked hard and put all of his trust into finding a way to live his business. This is his success story, and it’s still going.
From the time he was little, Joe loved spending time outdoors with his father. Fishing was his favorite; being out on the lake was his version of playing video games. He even missed out on his senior prom because he was signed up for a bass fishing tournament! That passion for the outdoors never changed as he grew up, and neither did his love for adventure and new experiences. He took this into his working life, even turning down a very promising job at an insurance company to go work at a local large-scale ammunition distributor as a sales associate. During that time, he was building his personal brand online as an outdoor adventurer as well as moving up in the ammo company. By age 24 he was promoted to Head of Sales and has since been instrumental in helping the company grow while providing ammunition to several large law enforcement agencies and their training facilities.
Part of what he does with his skills in shooting, which comes in very handy for his job, is giving lessons in how to properly fire and handle a firearm. He has worked with all sorts of people with varying skill levels, from college students looking for self-defense to military persons wanting to re-hone their skills.
His personal life has also been pretty blessed. He found himself a wonderful wife, and they currently have a little boy. If he isn’t hard at work traveling the country to see ammo, he can be found traveling and adventuring with them. His social media presence is also a big part of his life, where he takes his followers along as he goes on his adventures so that they can experience just a bit of the joy that he feels in the outdoors. Part of the important wisdom that he tries to impart to his son and to his followers is that it’s important to take time for the things you love, whether that be your hobbies, your loved ones, or just some time alone to unplug. It’s also important to try to live without “what ifs” as much as you possibly can. Find your passion and try to make it a part of your daily life, like he has been lucky enough to.
