The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Darnytsia Group, Dmytro Shymkiv, informed that in 2020 the Darnytsia company allocated more than UAH 14 million to assist doctors and patients and invested funds to support the culture and education in Ukraine. This message was reported by the press center of the pharmaceutical concern due to referring to a source.

According to the top manager, last year was a kind of test for the business in both strength and sincerity of intentions in terms of supporting public initiatives and positive transformations. The Darnytsia company passed this test more than successfully since its management was initially aware that the quality development presupposes systemic changes, first and foremost.

The charity work has become an integral part of the Darnytsia Group since it has provided charitable activities for many years. Within 2018 and 2020, it was an appropriate period for fulfilling great purposes in charity. The company allocated UAH 50.3 million precisely for these purposes. Dmytro Shymkiv responsibly informed that a strategic priority of the pharmaceutical concern is to support healthcare, culture, and education within the country. In the last year, one more priority was added to the patronage activity — overcoming the consequences of the pandemic.

Thus, the Darnytsia pharmaceutical company invested over 6 ventilators and equipment for diagnosing patients infected with Covid-19 coronavirus to medical institutions during the year. With the assistance of the pharmaceutical concern, a series of online conferences was conducted where domestic and foreign doctors took part. They had an opportunity to share their experience of treating patients in a pandemic. Also, in terms of charitable aid, Darnytsia delivered medicines to medical institutions that provide treatment of children with chronic systemic dysfunctions of connective tissues.

Besides the healthcare system of Ukraine, Darnytsia’s charitable approach has expanded to other areas supporting cultural, educational, public, and social initiatives. Therefore, the company founded a scholarship program at the Ukrainian Catholic University, orchestrated and paid for the drainage of the walls and foundation of St. Sophia Cathedral, provided medicines to flood victims in the Carpathian region and large families with adopted children. In addition to Darnytsia’s charitable activities, Dmytro Shymkiv mentioned a fundraising campaign for the Zhyttieliub fund. It was held at the end of last year and lasted two months. Upon its completion, the Darnytsia Group managed to collect UAH 200 thousand. Then, the pharmaceutical concern invested the same sum by doubling this amount and transferred it to the fund to purchase food packages and medicines for its wards.
