She uses her unique processes to assist with all aspects of life. Agnes Chau is also the Founder & President of The Empowered Heart, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, that empowers groups of people through education of strategies, tools, and techniques to apply for physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Self-defense for women and Empowered Heart Circles are programs that are offered to the community. Empowered Heart Circles are community gatherings for self-love, self-compassion, and self-care. The Empowered Heart’s volunteers teach the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Women Empowered Program at Certified Training Centers and in the community. They sponsor women who want self-defense training and can’t afford it on their own. The Empowered Heart, Inc. in conjunction with Agnes Chau LLC offers free transformation sessions to the Angels 14 community of veterans and allies.
As an active member of her community, she volunteers her time as a certified Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Women Empowered Instructor, and serves as an Empowered Heart Circle Facilitator. Agnes is also the Chair of the Ambassadors Committee for Eliances, “Where Entrepreneurs Align”. She has lent her expertise on several advisory boards and panels. Her impressive repertoire of past roles includes Senior Director of Engineering at Collins Aerospace, Senior Director/Program Manager/Technology Manager of Engineering at UTC Aerospace Systems, Engineering Manager and Flight Test Engineer at Pratt & Whitney. Agnes’ accomplishments include leading large teams to resolve tough challenges on high visibility commercial and military programs; and establishing a partnership between Pratt & Whitney and the University of Connecticut to launch the first additive manufacturing of metals lab in the Northeast.
Before embarking on her current career path, Agnes attended the Engineering Science Program at the University of Toronto and majored in Aerospace Engineering. She also attended the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts where she earned her M.B.A. She completed the Emerging Leaders Program at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and completed the INSEAD/UTC Global Leadership Development Program.
Agnes is also recognized as a preferred facilitator for PSYCH-K®. She has completed training in Tui Na acupressure, Tong Ren tapping and Quantum Energy healing, gua sha, and cupping from the Taoist Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Through the Bainbridge Leadership Center, Agnes completed the 3 Vital Questions Coaching Course: Transforming Drama to Designing Dreams.
Throughout her illustrious career, Agnes has received awards and was recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership. This year she will be considered for a feature article in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine, and for the Empowered Woman award given by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). In past years, Agnes has received the Connecticut Woman of Innovation Award for Large Business Innovation and Leadership, the Manufacturing Institute’s STEP Ahead award, the Society of Women Engineers’ Advocating Women in Engineering award and several patents, including 27 Patents with the US Patent and Trademark Office, 28 with the European Patent Office, 11 with the World Intellectual Property Organization, and 1 with the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore. She was also honored as Best Guest Lecturer by UConn’s Management and Engineering for Manufacturing.
She is an honoree of Brainz Magazine’s CREA Global Award. The CREA Global Awards celebrate innovation and creativity by honoring top entrepreneurs, companies, business owners, thought-leaders, and celebrities who have used their initiative and creative vision to become true game-changers.
