Advanced Pipe Repair APR Can Now Do Large Diameter Pipe Restoration Using UV Technology

Advanced Pipe Repair is happy to announce our latest pipe repair technology: large diameter pipe repair with UV drying. This technology allows us to bring the benefits of trenchless pipe repair to those who previously wouldn’t have been able to use it. 

At Advanced Pipe Repair, we offer a service called CIPP, or cured-in-place pipe repair. That service involves inserting a CIPP pipe into an existing pipe. The CIPP pipe covers any cracks and other imperfections, letting water flow smoothly without any leaks or bursts. 

CIPP technology has always worked well for average-sized pipes. However, with larger pipes, CIPP comes with some challenges. First of all, larger pipes require larger CIPP tubes. It’s essential that the CIPP tube fits the host pipe securely. Otherwise, the tube can come loose and impede water flow. 

Second, larger pipes come with longer CIPP drying times. One of the main benefits of CIPP is that it normally requires less time than traditional pipe repair. It takes less than a day to complete, while ordinary pipe repair can take months when you factor in the post-digging property reconstruction. With large pipes, however, the resin inside of the CIPP tube can take up precious time, leaving clients unable to use their pipes. 

Now, however, Advanced Pipe Repair offers CIPP repair for large diameter pipes, and we can offer all of the same benefits that smaller pipes get from CIPP. It’s all thanks to our new UV light technology. Now, after we pull a CIPP tube into place in a large diameter pipe, we use a UV light to speed the drying process. The UV light cures the CIPP resin quickly, and clients can use the pipe again as soon as the curing process is finished. 

This means that when clients need to have large diameter pipes repaired, they can enjoy all the benefits that CIPP has to offer. Quick drying times provide just one of those benefits. Another benefit is that CIPP repair doesn’t require any digging. With CIPP, we insert the tube from an existing access point. There’s no property destruction and no need to pay for repair costs. 

CIPP also limits workplace disruptions. While regular pipe repair creates a lot of noise, CIPP creates very little noise. Clients get to remain undisturbed, and employees don’t have to work through a lot of distractions.
