A Dance Dance Revolution with Artin Avaznia

From being kicked out of his family home to living in one of the most viral content houses in the world, Artin Avaznia is in The Xone with the release of his new project.

As a solo dance artist and creative director, Artin Avaznia has created a movement that aims to revolutionize the way dance is perceived and consumed. Through his music video-like dance visuals and one of a kind live performances, his innovative style is unlike any other.

With the launch of his most personal project to date, The Xone: Reverie to Reality (xone pronounced as /zōn/), Artin walks us through his very intimate  journey over the last two years. With past projects, the solo dance artist has hesitated letting fans and viewers experience a raw side of him. Artin describes The Xone as  “a coming of age story”, reflecting struggles with mental health, family, and identity all while growing into his own, staying disciplined, and in The Xone.

As the main director, video producer, and editor, Artin continues to push boundaries with each project. The Xone: Reverie to Reality is Artin’s most intricate and visually progressive project to date. By designing and incorporating time coded digital sets that are synchronized with his intricate choreography, this will be a viewing experience like no other.

As a part of his initiative to push the independent arts scene forward, the dance visual series will solely feature music by indie artists, ranging from well established to emerging. Australian indie-rock band, Sticky Fingers, as well as Canadian music icon, Kiesza are among those who have shared their music to be featured in this project.

As Artin continues to pave a lane of his own, the solo dance artists’ efforts have been recognized by his hometown, the Capital of Canada, Ottawa. The city has awarded, The Xone: Reverie to Reality with the Youth in Pilot Culture Grant, marking the first time a solo dance artist has been awarded this grant.

The trailer for the project is available now, and the visuals from the 4-Part series will be released on a monthly basis starting Feb 24th.
