Minnesota Distilleries Make Hand Sanitizer for Local Communities Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – April 29, 2020 – (Newswire.com)

Owner and president at Bent Brewstillery, Bartley Blume, recently called together Studio Distilling and several other Minnesota distilleries to join him in taking a small break from crafting spirits to make hand sanitizer for their local communities.

As retail and wholesale organizations continue to report limited supplies of hand sanitizer available to send essential businesses and employees who are at greater risk of contracting COVID-19, Bent Brewstillery, along with many other craft distilleries, are doing their part to provide aid to local individuals and businesses.

“It’s just the right thing to do,” said Jeremy Blankenship, an independent Distiller who is leading the logistics of the sanitizer operation. “It’s also an incredible opportunity for our industry to do our part to support essential workers and their families—everyone from daycares to state and federal agencies, fire departments, and hospital staff, you name it! You help us every day, and now it’s our turn to support you!”

Bent Brewstillery continues to coordinate and distribute the bulk-sourcing of ingredients—all in accordance with the World Health Organization’s recommended formula—to provide each individual distillery the resources to create hand sanitizer for their communities. And by shifting most of its manufacturing efforts from distilling to producing hand sanitizer, Bent Brewstillery itself is manufacturing approximately 1,500 gallons of sanitizer per day.

“It feels great to work together as an industry to do good, said Shelly Dailey, Managing Partner at Studio Distilling. “We all want to do everything possible to help our community during this time, and we are proud to support this life-changing effort!”

The complete list of partnering distilleries include:

  • Bent Brewstillery in Roseville, MN
  • Studio Distilling in St. Paul, MN
  • Ida Graves Distillery in Alexandria, MN
  • Copperwing Distillery in St. Louis Park, MN
  • Dampfwerks Distillery Co. in St. Louis Park, MN
  • Twin Spirits Distillery in Minneapolis, MN
  • Loon Liquors Distillery in Northfield, MN
