Cyclists rides down old Olympic bobsled track

The video, which has a few thousand views at this time, was posted to YouTube four days ago. The cyclist and the person who uploaded the footage is Chris Thompson. In the description, Thompson wrote how he reached speeds of almost 37 miles per hour.

On Reddit, Thompson, who is from Italy, wrote about how he took a look at the track before going down it. The video shows that there are nearly no obstacles in his way, but at one point he does come close to a female hiker, but he didn’t collide with her. That occurred at a part where the track is 45 feet above the ground.

Thompson said that with a little practice, he thinks that track could be ridden with no brakes, and speeds of 50 mph could be reached. He did say that the first couple of runs, he did use the brake a lot, but by the 5th or 6th run, he was only using the brake if he was coming up to a turn at high speeds.

The bobsled track is from the 1984 Winter Olympics, and it has been left abandoned. The track sits on Trebevic mountain and it overlooks the city of Sarajevo.
