The two shows were clearly different with their character but one idea of sport and recreation spanning the both, made them co-exist perfectly one next to the other on the same floor of the exhibition area.

The 2nd Vancouver Bike Show was the event of its own kind. What was interesting about this show was a tremendous technology jump that entered the entire world revolving around the bikes. High performance bikes for both professional road cyclists and mountain riders with light metal construction of everything on wheels and spokes collected crowds of enthusiasts and experts alike. Some of the fancy constructed vehicles were pushing the prices of the lower regions of an average car’s value.

There were bikes for recreation, transportation of goods (with a small built-in rack to attach a small size surf board, for example), heavier boxes or those colourful ones (some of them custom assembled) to pull out from the garage to just impress thy neighbours when showing off the new equipment.

Add to this all the accessories – helmets, fashionable outfits, sunshades, shoes and anything else that can be associated with it and the price tag for this sport can be really high.
There was an offer for 3-speed electric bike with speed up to 27 km/h, with no-memory battery, good to be used for the distance between 60 and 100 km without charging, depending on how much hills is on the way.

These two exhibitions also showed how the elements of one exhibition can be implemented into the elements of the other one. It was demonstrated how one small size family car for 4 people can be fully prepared to carry a kayak, 2 bikes and quite a gear on its roof.
