NEW YORK – Wall Street Journal – the 112 year-old paper revealed today content and organizational improvements including: a new section, the addition of color and new navigational tools. The new elements are designed to help guide readers to the news, commentary and analysis that is most important to them, personally and professionally.
Three days a week, Tuesday through Thursday, readers will enjoy the new Personal Journal section, which will provide timely news, analysis and insight to the information that affects their daily lives.
The new section will explore an array of topics from personal finance, healthcare and family concerns… to travel, consumer electronics and automobiles.
This is the first time in more than 60 years that the Journal has made significant changes to it front page, including the use of color to highlight the paper’s “What’s News” summary.
The addition of color will convey news, information and graphics in a more usable and easier to read format.
The collective changes were made possible by nearly four years of planning and more than $225 million in capital investment to increase page and color capacity.
The Journal’s daily page capacity has increased from 80 pages to 96. Of these, 24 pages are color-capable, up from eight pages.
