Located in the heart of Toronto, in the fashionable Yorkville district, Four Seasons Hotel Toronto’s Studio Cafe is decorated with wildly colourful acrylic and oil paintings and original glass-blown sculptures glimmering in showcases around the room. The cabinets, fitted with special halogen lighting to bring out the glass objects’ transparent colours, act as “room dividers,” creating cozy privacy for diners in a relaxing setting.
Floor-to-ceiling windows grace this airy restaurant allowing in natural light from the street, and glass-topped tabletops are draped in Italian designer Gianni Versace’s Mandarin Rose coloured fabric. From the servers’ striped vests to the bungee chord chrome chairs, the Studio Cafe sports a playful look.
All works in the restaurant (excluding the wall paintings) are available for sale and labels in the display cases identify the artists and where they can be contacted.
Restaurant Chef Sam Mathison’s menu features a diverse à la carte menu with an assortment of fabulous daily specials. Lunch and dinner selections are prepared with European influence, including gourmet pizzas, pastas and meat loaf with roasted vegetables; this is the restaurant where you can get the best ham omelette in the world. An extensive wine list of more than 1200 bottles of wine is available from the distinct wine cellar. Dinner entrée prices range from $18 to $28; at lunch, $14 to $20.
The Studio Cafe is a happy and sumptuous place to dine. Located on the second floor of Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, the Studio Cafe is the hotel’s all day restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and is open seven days a week, weekdays from 6:30 am to 11 pm, and weekends and holidays from 7 am to 11 pm.
