Scott Vicknair Injury Lawyers is proud to announce the launch of the second installment of Project Backpack, a community-driven initiative designed to equip Southeastern Louisiana students with free backpacks filled with supplies like pencils, folders, and much more. This program reflects the firm’s ongoing commitment to giving back and investing in the next generation. This event will happen on July 26, 2025.

“At Scott Vicknair, we believe every child deserves a strong start,” said David Vicknair, founding partner at Scott Vicknair Injury Lawyers. “Education unlocks opportunity, and Project Backpack is our way of helping open that door for students who need it most.”

The heart of Project Backpack is inspired by Martha Vicknair, David’s mother, and a beloved educator who spent 33 years teaching elementary and special education students at Thibodaux Elementary School. Her passion for teaching, mentorship, and advocacy for underserved children laid the foundation for this initiative.

“My mother’s dedication to helping every student succeed — regardless of background — continues to guide us,” said Vicknair. “She taught me that not every child starts on the same footing. This project honours that standard by helping close the gap.”

Through Project Backpack, the firm will donate backpacks filled with school supplies to families across Southeastern Louisiana, ensuring children head into the school year with confidence and support.
