Review: Shari Bitterman brilliant on new children’s book Simon the Snail (Includes first-hand account)

The protagonist of the story is Simon the Snail, and he has a loving family, whose parents and siblings think the world of him, and rightfully so. He goes through several phases and he finds himself being teased and bullied in school, and his teacher, Mrs. Slugly, does not seem to be attentive to his needs.

The theme of strong family unity and hard work is eloquently conveyed throughout the book, and Simon is respected and cherished for his differences and unique qualities, which is food for thought for all readers.

Bitterman is a master of rhyme and poetry, and she truly takes her readers on a learning adventure. The book’s illustrations are vivid and top-notch (done in watercolor by Shanté Clair), thus complimenting Bitterman’s writing quite well. It is well worth more than just a passing glance.

The Verdict

Overall, Shari Bitterman’s Simon the Snail is an absolute gem. It is recommended for children of all ages, and even adults and parents. The book’s syntax is noteworthy, and the same holds true for its use of sophisticated language. There is a sweet and inspiring message in it for everybody. It is worthy of a sequel or two. Simon the Snail earns five out of five stars.

Shari Bitterman’s new book is available on on Archway Publishing’s website, Amazon’s official website and on Barnes & Noble.
