Review: Kate Hudson stuns on Pretty Happy: Healthy Ways to Love Your Body (Includes first-hand account)

The book was released on Dey Street Books/HarperCollins. Hudson is the daughter of Oscar-winning actress Goldie Hawn. In this honest and authentic account, the Golden Globe-winning actress, who is also a mother of two children, and a businesswoman, shared that there is no secret to her successes in life. It requires a lot of hard work and motivation, and contentment in one’s life needs to be holistic, thus involving all the different aspects in one’s life.

Some of her “secrets” include the fact that she hardly ever eats breakfast, and reveals that the majority of her food intake is tofu, nuts, fruits and vegetables. Hudson avoids meat, dairy and gluten, and she limits her sugar intake.

In a recent book signing at a Barnes & Noble in New York City, Hudson was asked the following question, pertaining to her book, by a wise audience member: “In a few words, what does it mean to be “happy?” The actress’ responded that happiness means being “authentic” and “truthful.” She underscored the importance of not being judgmental with that happiness, and for one to discover true happiness, one needs to experience sadness.

The Verdict

Overall, Kate Hudson’s Pretty Happy: Healthy Ways to Love Your Body is highly recommended for anybody who is interested about reading a well-written book on fitness, nutrition, health, especially since it offers insightful tips on boosting one’s self-esteem and confidence. It is certain to inspire her reading audience, especially women. It is a great guide and resource on how people can figure out how to take care of themselves and their bodies, including their minds.
