Racy, Sexy and Kinky: Toronto Celebrates Everything To Do With Sex

TORONTO (Digital Journal) — It’s like a convention for the curious minds, an exhibition for experimentalists, a hologram of horniness.

It’s the Everything to Do With Sex Show, and now in its fifth year in Toronto, is one of the highest attended consumer shows in Canada.

The show has come and gone now, but the event has left a lasting impression on many people. People come from all over to get their fingers on some of the newest adult toys on the market: long and slender, short and robust, plastic or metal.

They come in all different shapes, sizes, and girths, intended to make every night — whether you’re single or otherwise — a night to remember.

Not into toys? Not a problem. The weekend event is full of seminars constructed to educate attendees on “Enhancing Your Sex Drive”, “Sensual Games for Partners” and “Cutting Edge Sex”, to name but a few.

It’s the one show that targets this driving force behind popular culture, and arguably, it’s something that is on the minds of many people all around the world. What’s changed over the years, though, are the people who choose to embrace both romantic and kinky forms of sex, and instead of hiding it, flaunt it.

Today, sex is no big secret; it’s a celebration of one’s body and mind, together united.

Organizers say this year, the focus was ensuring the show was both interactive and fun for everyone who attended, regardless of their age, status, or sexual orientation. And with more than 100 exhibitors and entertainment ranging from Yuk Yuk’s performers to burlesque dancers, it’s no wonder the show pulled in an audience of more than 50,000 people.

Couples and singles lined the aisles to listen to demonstrations, sample products, or simply browse through the collection of booths. An aphrodisiac bar ran along the back end of the hall, adorned with succulent treats of candies and chocolate, mouth-watering strawberries and champagne, libido-raising oysters and other tastes for both food and sex lovers.

So what was the highlight of the event? It depends who you ask. While some took advantage of the free condoms supplied by one of the show’s sponsors, others found exploring “The Dungeon” (specializing in bondage) equally as interesting. Some enjoyed shopping on their own for a new toy, while others discussed new instruments that could spice up their sex life.

“This one,” A sales person told a young couple, “can make you go all night long.”

If you’re game, it’s definitely an event worth seeing. But be prepared to leave your inhibitions at the door. And if the show gets better with age, as many trade show type events do, next year’s show will be definitely be racier, sexier, and kinkier.
