Smart home tech is creeping into nearly every corner of the house including the floor. On that front, MOVA, a cleaning technology company, has just launched its P50 Pro Ultra, a robot vacuum that automates the task of constantly vacuuming your space.

At a glance, the P50 Pro Ultra certainly has an impressive resume. A suction rating of 19,000Pa puts this machine among the most powerful in the consumer market, and for households juggling pets, carpets, and hardwood. But raw power isn’t the story here — it’s how MOVA is trying to close the loop on household cleaning by removing human involvement almost entirely.

One of the standout features is the P50 Pro Ultra’s self-maintaining base station. After each cleaning run, the robot returns to its dock, where its mop pads are not only spray-washed but also dried with hot air — reducing the mold and odor issues that have long plagued dual mop-vac systems.

It’s a small detail, but one that reveals MOVA’s broader ambition: to build a cleaning tool that doesn’t become another thing to clean.

The robot also empties its own dustbin and features a CleanChop roller brush designed to resist hair tangles, a particular nuisance in pet-owning homes. According to Sean Chen, managing director of MOVA North America, this was a design priority.

“In the U.S. alone, over 80 million households have pets. That means daily fur, dander, and unexpected messes. The P50 Pro Ultra was developed to handle that without turning pet ownership into a full-time job,” Chen explained in an interview.

The P50 Pro Ultra’s navigation system plays a crucial part in how it understands space. Leveraging AI-powered mapping and real-time dirt detection, the device adapts its route on the fly by avoiding obstacles, prioritizing dirty areas, and dialing up suction when needed.

MOVA also introduces FlexReach, a feature that swings mop pads outward to reach baseboards and corners, as well as CleanLift, which lifts the mop during carpet traversal to avoid unwanted soaking. These aren’t entirely new concepts in the industry, but MOVA’s implementation aims to reduce the compromises that still exist in all-in-one systems.

Priced at $999 on Amazon, the P50 Pro Ultra enters a market saturated with budget-friendly robot vacuums and high-end options like Roborock and iRobot’s j7+. So where does MOVA fit?

The answer may lie in its emphasis on autonomy over app features. While competitors focus heavily on control via smartphone and customizable emphasis on autonomy over app features. zones, MOVA seems more focused on building a system that users can largely forget about — until their floors are spotless.

And that may be the biggest appeal. In an age where every device seems to demand your attention, a robot that quietly does its job — and its own cleanup — might be the smartest appliance in the house.
