Background on Katarina Mogus

Katarina Mogus, featured on GlamourCNBC, and CNET, is a content creator, host, and brand expert bringing tech to life for everyday users.

A former sports professional turned digital entrepreneur, her educational tech content, viral “tech hacks,” and review videos have earned over 60 million views, collaborations with Apple, Google, Meta, and Spotify, and invitations from top industry events to speak on global panels alongside executives from YouTube, Spotify, and Snapchat.

Now, she is launching her highly anticipated podcast “Future Obsession,” featuring influential guests from the worlds of tech, business, and innovation

How does it feel to be a digital entrepreneur in the Internet age?

It’s incredibly empowering to be a digital entrepreneur in the Internet age. We’re living in a time where access, opportunity, and creativity intersect like never before.

I’ve been able to build a career, and connect with people from all over the world, all from a phone and a laptop. What’s been especially rewarding is building a community of over three million followers who are just as excited about technology as I am.

I love hearing from people in different countries who’ve been inspired, educated, or even launched their own journeys because of something I shared.

It’s like this huge, ongoing group chat of inspiration and creativity. Now, you don’t need a fancy studio or a huge budget anymore. You need an idea, a vision, and the courage to hit “post”.  That is what makes it so powerful.

What motivates you each day?

What motivates me each day is my genuine excitement for new technologies. I wake up curious, wondering what’s next, and how I can share that with my community in a way that feels fun.

I absolutely love breaking down the latest tech, finding clever tips and tricks, and helping people feel more confident navigating this digital world.

What truly inspires me and keeps me going is hearing from young girls and women around the world who are inspired by my journey.

As a woman in a male-dominated field, I feel a responsibility to be visible for the next generation and inspire young women.

When they see someone like them thriving in tech, it shows them they can do it too. And I’ll never stop showing up for that.

What are your thoughts on the rise of female tech influencers?

I absolutely love it. Seeing more female tech influencers rising and owning their space is so powerful. When I first started on TikTok, the platform was mostly dancing videos.

There were hardly any educational content, especially around tech. I saw that gap and decided to change it. I started sharing tech tips, tricks, and tutorials in a way that was fun, and relatable, and in many ways helped shape what educational tech content could look like on TikTok.

Now, watching more women confidently share their knowledge, reviews, and passion for technology is amazing. I always encourage other women to post about tech and I believe we bring a fun, fresh and creative perspective.

What is your advice for young and emerging entrepreneurs?

My biggest advice for young and emerging entrepreneurs is to stay open to evolving. The entrepreneurial journey isn’t always predictable, and that’s part of the beauty of it.

Some of your biggest breakthroughs will come from being flexible, continuous learning, and growing through the process. Confidence and adaptability is the key to success so trust in yourself and keep going.

What do your plans for the future include?

I am continuing to grow my content, collaborate with forward-thinking brands, and build out educational resources that make tech feel more accessible and exciting for everyone.

I’m really excited to keep expanding my impact in the tech and media space, especially through my podcast, Future Obsession.

It’s a passion project where I get to sit down with inspiring founders, creators, and thought leaders to talk about what’s next in tech, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

The goal is to spark curiosity and help people, especially women, see what’s possible when you think big and embrace emerging ideas.

You are launching a new podcast… can you tell us more about that?

I’m so excited to be launching Future Obsession—a new podcast that dives deep into the world of tech innovation and entrepreneurial inspiration. Hosted by me, Future Obsession is your weekly dose of conversations with leaders across business, tech, and media as we explore the trends shaping tomorrow.

We’ll be talking about how technology is transforming industries, how founders are building the future, and how listeners can carve out their own path in this evolving digital landscape. Whether you’re a curious tech user, a startup founder, or someone who just loves knowing what’s next, there’s something here for you.

One thing I’m especially passionate about is highlighting female voices in tech. As a woman in a male-dominated space, I know how powerful visibility is.

Future Obsession is committed to featuring brilliant women across the industry—so the next generation sees what’s possible and feels empowered to step into these roles themselves. I can’t wait for people to tune in.

Were there any moments in your career or life that have helped define you?

One of the most defining moments in my career came during the early days of the pandemic. After studying Sport Management, I had landed what I thought was my dream job in professional sports, working at Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment. Everything felt like it was finally falling into place, until COVID hit.

Like so many others, I was laid off, and everything I had worked toward suddenly paused. But instead of letting it discourage me, I chose to see it as an opportunity.

With extra time at home, I pivoted and started creating tech content—simple, helpful videos to educate people and support small businesses navigating a rapidly changing digital world.

What began as a creative outlet quickly grew into something much bigger. I launched a business, built a brand, and created something entirely my own.

That experience taught me the power of resilience and adapting to change. It was a turning point that completely reshaped my career path and my mindset. I learned that sometimes a setback is just a redirection.

And today I still carry that approach with me: keep learning, keep growing, and always be ready to evolve.

With Father’s Day coming up, what are some good (and affordable) tech gift ideas?

Mini Portable Speaker – Sony SRS-XB100. This compact little speaker packs a punch! It’s waterproof, dustproof, and perfect for the dad who loves spending time outdoors. My dad clips his to his golf cart for a soundtrack to his day on the course. With 16 hours of battery life and a built-in strap, it’s easy to attach to bikes, backpacks, or coolers for on-the-go listening.

Smart Temperature Control Mug – Ember Mug. For the dad who hates cold coffee. The Ember Mug connects to an app and keeps coffee at the perfect temperature for hours. A sleek LED light lets him know when it’s ready, and the design is minimal enough to sit on any desk. Ideal for work-from-home dads or office coffee sippers.

Google Nest Outdoor Camera. Peace of mind made simple. This smart security cam lets Dad keep an eye on the front porch, backyard, or garage from his phone. It sends alerts when it detects movement, and the clear HD video and night vision make it super reliable. Bonus: it’s easy to install.

Philips Hue Smart Bulbs – A19 LED Bulb 2-Pack. These aren’t your average light bulbs. With Philips Hue, Dad can control the ambiance of any room right from his phone. Dim the lights for movie night, schedule them to turn on in the morning. It’s an easy way to turn any space into a smart space.

Oura Smart Ring. This sleek wearable does it all. Sleep tracking, readiness scores, activity monitoring, and health insights. It’s a discreet but powerful tool for dads who want to stay on top of their health and energy levels. Plus, it’s lightweight and stylish enough for everyday wear.

What does the word success mean to you?

To me, success isn’t measured by the number of followers, likes, or views, it’s about the impact I’m making and the purpose behind what I do.

Success is the messages from girls saying they want to get into tech because they see me doing it, or seeing a small business thrive from something I shared.

Of course, I have big goals and milestones I’m chasing, but at the end of the day, success is also about using my platform to inspire and empower others, especially women to dream bigger and take up space in male dominated industries.
