LOS ANGELES — Julia Roberts won the best actress Oscar for “Erin Brockovich” on Sunday, adding the industry’s top acting honor to the three Golden Globes, the Screen Actors Guild prize and the long list of hits already behind her.
She clutched her first Oscar and said, ”This is quite pretty.”
“Gladiator,” which resurrected Rome and the Roman film epic with muscular battles and dazzling computer-created panoramas, won the best-picture honor Sunday at the Oscars.
