Jerry Lee Lewis Hospitalized

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Jerry Lee Lewis remained hospitalized with pneumonia but was reported to be getting better.

“Mr. Lewis is doing just fine,” said Ruth Ann Hale, a spokeswoman for Methodist Hospital, on Tuesday.

Hale said she didn’t know when Lewis would be going home.

The 65-year-old Lewis checked into the hospital early last Friday. He also was treated for pneumonia about a month ago.

Lewis is known for such hits as “Whole Lot of Shakin’ Goin’ On” and “Great Balls of Fire.” He was among the first performers to be named to the International Rock and Roll Museum in 1986.
