CNN is reporting the gates, including the branded names Patrull, Patrull Fast, and Patrull Klamma baby gates sold between 1995 and 2016 can come unlocked unexpectedly and cause falls and other injuries.
There have been 55 incidents reported worldwide involving the gates, including 10 injuries that resulted in cuts and bruises and at least two concussions. Four of the incidents occurred in the U.S., including two that resulted in cuts and bruising.

The gates were made in Denmark and are sold online through the company’s website and in retail stores nationwide, ranging in price from $10.00 to $60.00. Ikea is advising customers who have the recalled products to stop using them immediately and return them to the store for a full refund.
The gates are white and are made of beech wood or steel and plastic. The gates are pressure mounted and swing both inward and outward. They are 28 ¾ inches high with an adjustable width from about 28 ¾ inches to 34 ¼ inches.
There was an earlier recall of the Patrull Klamma gate in May this year after three children were injured when the gate failed to stay locked. Additionally, of the 80,000 safety gates sold worldwide, 28,000 were sold in Canada.
On the metal bar at the bottom of the safety gate is a permanent label containing the word “Ikea,” and the article number. The following article numbers are included in the recall:
