Hotel in Vermont will offer black bear and roadkill on menu

Hotel Vermont is the name of the establishment, and Chef Doug Paine plans on preparing a different type of meal next month.

On November 7, Hotel Vermont will host a fish and game supper that will consist of donations from Vermont hunters and fishermen.

Paine said that the idea of the event is to get people connected to their local food sources. He added the event is also to showcase Vermont traditions.

Those who attend the event will be able to order road kill, muskrat, black bear and beaver. Deer and moosewill also be featured on the menu, and people who are interested in attending the dinner will need to pay $75.

Some of the items on the menu will be animals that were killed in roadside accidents or seized by state authorities from illegal poachers.

Paine promises everything on the menu will be delicious. He also said that people can choose to eat whatever they want, as they won’t be limited to just choosing from the specialty menu.

Paine said that he is sure that 90% of people in Vermont haven’t tried beaver, but they will probably like it if they did try it.
