NEW YORK — Even though the Bee Gees have been together for more than four decades, Robin Gibb says the brothers don’t see each other as often as people might think.
“We have very separate personal lives, and I think we have to,” Gibb told The Associated Press during a recent interview. “We see each other only in the professional setting.”
Gibb, 51, said it’s not family ties that have kept him, his twin, Maurice, and their older brother, Barry, together for so long — it’s their love of music.
“It’s kind of a professional relationship,” he said, the latest result of which is their new album, “This I Where I Came In,” which was released earlier this week.
On Friday, they perform on A&E’s “Live By Request Special Edition.” Although they expect to get plenty of requests for their disco hits, they also plan to perform songs off their new album, which has a more acoustic sound.
“The difference in this album is, it actually goes back to our earlier roots,” he said.
