When DudeMeds launched, it wasn’t just to fill a gap in the telemedicine market; it was to confront what the founders see as a national health and identity crisis. At the center of this push are two entrepreneurs, Sal Pilato and Jonathan Hancock, whose combined backgrounds in medicine, operations, and strategic business growth now fuel a mission to “make men, men again.”
For Pilato and Hancock, the story of DudeMeds is personal, practical, and unfiltered. It’s about redefining men’s healthcare through a 100% online platform that tackles low testosterone, ED, aging, and the broader collapse of what they call traditional masculine values.
From fieldwork to pharma: two founders with grit
Jonathan Hancock, Co-Founder and COO, brings an unusually diverse background to the table. Raised in the heart of America’s agricultural industry, Hancock learned both business fundamentals and operational mechanics working in his family’s multimillion-dollar international seed operation. By 2008, he had pushed to transform their legacy wholesale model into a national retail brand, leading digital expansion efforts that brought traditional agriculture into the modern era.
From there, Hancock shifted into healthcare, earning his doctorate and founding multidisciplinary medical clinics. Along the way, he helped secure key vertical licenses under Florida’s medical marijuana legislation, contributing to the growth of Harvest Health & Recreation before its $2.2 billion acquisition by Trulieve.
Today, he channels that same strategic foresight into DudeMeds, where he leads operational strategy with a firm belief that men’s health needs a direct, digital overhaul.
Sal Pilato, Co-Founder and CEO, took a clinical route that led him into the trenches of hormone therapy, pain management, aesthetics, and IV treatments. After earning his doctorate and building a successful medical practice, he pivoted from brick-and-mortar clinics to hybrid telemedicine with GoHormone, then later dove deep into the pharmaceutical industry. As a Territory Consultant, he oversaw major partnerships across the Southeast, later spearheading national key account sales and developing relationships with leading physicians across multiple specialties.
Pilato’s core motivation for launching DudeMeds is rooted in frustration, stemming from a system that under-serves men and overlooks the erosion of core masculine values, such as strength, resilience, and self-reliance. Together with Hancock, he co-founded DudeMeds to change that.
The business: bold, digital, and built for men
DudeMeds is not your typical telehealth startup. The company doesn’t shy away from stark messaging, “America: fat, weak, and limp,” because, according to Pilato and Hancock, sugarcoating the data doesn’t serve anyone. Nearly 40% of American men over age 20 are obese, approximately 39% of men aged 45 and older have clinically low testosterone,, and about 22% of men in their 40s experience erectile dysfunction, with prevalence increasing significantly with age. Coupled with a more than 50% decline in sperm counts since 1973 and the founders argue this isn’t a trend, but a cultural and physiological men’s health crisis.
Their solution? A fully automated, direct-to-consumer telemedicine platform delivering testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), NAD+ anti-aging protocols, and more, entirely online, in all 50 states.
This model eliminates the traditional barriers of local clinics and slow medical bureaucracy, providing men with access to diagnostics, prescriptions, and treatment, all from the comfort of home.
A culture of clarity and zero apologies
DudeMeds isn’t just clinical; it’s cultural. With a no-BS brand voice, the platform offers men something they rarely find in healthcare: authenticity. “Doing cool sh*t with cool people” is more than an internal mantra; it’s a signal to patients that this is a place where honesty trumps politeness, and where transparency builds trust.
The company’s approach appeals to men tired of stigma and disillusioned by the broader healthcare system. Whether it’s their social content, their onboarding process, or their product lineup, DudeMeds leads with clarity, purpose, and speed.
Early wins and momentum
DudeMeds’ distinct tone and science-backed offerings haven’t gone unnoticed. The clinic was recently named one of Forbes’ Best Testosterone Replacement Therapy Providers of 2025, as well as a top provider of NAD+ anti-aging treatment. The company also earned acceptance into Microsoft’s Startups Founders Hub and received Google funding for generative AI integrations, positioning the brand for digital healthcare delivery.
The road ahead
For Pilato and Hancock, this is just the beginning. What started with a call between two long-time collaborators has turned into a nationwide effort to address male health through science, access, and digital convenience.
As DudeMeds scales, the company remains focused on its core mission: using medical science and operational excellence to restore men’s health, and with it, the traits they believe define masculinity.
