TAMPA, Florida – What do NFL Hall of Fame athletes, world class chefs, Miss America and Wynonna Judd have in common? They are all part of Super Bowl XXXV weekend’s hottest event — Taste of the NFL.
Known as “The Party with a Purpose,” Taste of the NFL is the premier food and wine tasting extravaganza presented each year at the Super Bowl. A top chef from each NFL city will be paired with an alumnus or current player from each team to serve up tasty tidbits and fine wines for more than 3,000 guests at the Tampa Convention Center on Saturday, January 27 — all for a good cause.
TNFL has raised more than $2.6 million for hunger related charities over the last nine years. Funds raised from the 10th annual event will be distributed to selected national programs of America’s Second Harvest, as well as hunger relief agencies in each of the NFL cities.
“This is the first year that every NFL city will benefit directly from the funds raised,” says event founder Wayne Kostroski. “We are extremely excited about the impact these contributions will have in each of the communities.”
About the Event
The evening also offers the opportunity for guests to bid on silent auction items, many that are unique to this spectacular Super Bowl weekend event. A live performance by music superstar Wynonna Judd will finish the evening on a high note.
In addition to ticket sales, auction proceeds and sponsorships, funds also are raised through the sale of a Restaurant Guide featuring recipes of the dishes served and biographies of the participating players and chefs.
Event sponsors for Taste of the NFL X include: Coca Cola, Gallo of Sonoma, Maple Leaf Farms, Red Barron Pizza, The Home Depot, Jones Dairy Farm, The Tampa Tribune, River City Coffee, Sprint, Sprint PCS, Glad Ovenware and Mall of America.
