Peloton instructor and “Dancing with the Stars” alum Cody Rigsby chatted about ’90s nostalgia, his experience on the hit reality dancing competition, the digital age, and he shared some relationship advice.
“I will be celebrating my ninth anniversary with Peloton this August,” he said. “It has been going great for me. I still absolutely love it. It’s fun and I look forward to it. I get to help people and I have been doing that for the past nine years. I am really grateful for that.”
Cody Rigsby: The ‘Dancing with the Stars’ alum
He competed in the 30th season of the popular reality dancing competition “Dancing with the Stars,” where he was paired with professional dancer Cheryl Burke. Rigsby and Burke ultimately finished in third place that season.
On his experience on “Dancing with the Stars,” Rigsby said, “It was an incredible journey of tons of ups and downs. I learned a lot about myself and it was literally one of the hardest things I have ever done. I was so happy that I did it but if somebody were to ask me to do it again, I don’t think I could put myself through that again.”
Working with Cheryl Burke
“Working with Cheryl was great,” he said. “Our relationship had its ups and downs, COVID gave us a bumpy start, and there were some rehearsals where we clashed a little bit, but in the end, we had such a great relationship.
“I have so much respect for her. In our partnership, we really pushed each other to grow and I think we learned a lot from each other,” he added.
The digital age
On being a fitness and Internet personality in the digital age, Rigsby said, “I think what I’ve been able to do — and my colleagues at Peloton have been able to do — is to really ride the wave, and create this new idea and template of what a fitness professional looks like.”
“People have so much access to us via social media and we are able to tell authentic stories, and we are more about people who promote being the best version of ourselves, and we come in all different shapes and sizes, and different backgrounds. It’s a really positive way to move the fitness industry, and to put more focus on feeling great and strong,” he elaborated.
National Solitaire Day
On May 22, it is “National Solitaire Day,” so they will celebrate with a modern take on the classic Solitaire computer game, that people can enjoy whether they are single or in a relationship. “I am excited. I have fallen in love with the game again. It reminds of my childhood and ’90s nostalgia except you don’t need that clunky deck and you don’t have to mix them up yourself, it’s all there in the game. That makes it that much more fun, engaging, and it works your brain a little bit more,” he said.
Solitaire Grand Harvest is a fun modern-day take on the game that people all know and love from their 90’s desktop computers. It is free to play and always accessible from mobile phone.
“For all the single people out there, this is a time to decide if you want to play games in dating or if you want to play Solitaire Grand Harvest, the latter would be better since it won’t get you in any confusing emotions,” he said.
Playtika is the mobile entertainment company behind the gaming app Solitaire Grand Harvest. The free app Solitaire Grand Harvest is available on the Apple Store by clicking here.
Relationship advice and favorite mottos to live by
He also offered the following relationship advice to people: “Have fun, create boundaries, and respect yourself.”
On his favorite mottos to live by, Rigsby said, “It’s not that deep.” “Let’s not take life too seriously, and let’s have fun even when we are approaching serious topics,” he said.
Daily motivations
On his daily motivations, he said, “I just want to find the joy and happiness in everything that I do. If I can just have fun and laugh even at hard times or in challenging days, that’s what motivates me.”
Cody Rigsby: The book author
Later in the year, Rigsby will be releasing his new book titled “XOXO, Cody: An Opinionated Homosexual’s Guide to Self-Love, Relationships, and Tactful Pettiness.” “I am very excited about the book,” he said. “It has been a culmination of a lifetime of work, but also the past eight months that I have been working on it, it has been interesting of going through this process because it feels like therapy, especially to put it all on paper.”
“I am excited for fans of mine, and people who don’t even know me, to get to know me in a really in-depth way,” he added.
Stage of his life
On the title of the current chapter of his life, Rigsby said with a sweet laugh, “Sit down bitch, enjoy life.”
When asked to look back in a rearview mirror over the last decade, he reflected, “I see a lot of mess and a lot of mistakes, but also a lot of growth.”
If he were to have any superpower, it would be “to fly.” “I would really enjoy that,” he admitted.

For hopefuls who wish to go into fitness or digital content creation, he said, “The most important thing is your authenticity and how you connect with clients or people in your classes.
