Australian performer, content creator, model, and former athlete Sean Wepener chatted about being a part of the reality TV series “Heartbreak Island,” the digital age, and about redefining himself.
“The important thing in life is not victory but combat; it is not to have vanquished but to have fought well,” said French educator and historian Pierre de Coubertin. Sean Wepener is such an individual.
‘Heartbreak Island’
On being a part of “Heartbreak Island,” Wepener said, “It was amazing, it really was. It was filmed in Fiji. It’s pretty much a cross between ‘Love Island’ and ‘Survivor’ and it involves some challenges. You and your partner partake in challenges each week, if you lose a challenge, you are up for elimination. We were out there for eight weeks and we had a challenge every three or four days. I really enjoyed my time there.”
Wepener, who grew up in England, is a former rugby player and he lives in Melbourne, Australia; moreover, he has been a vital part of the “Magic Men Australia” family for the past three years. “I do miss the rugby though. That was a big part of my life because I did that for 11 or 12 years,” he said.
“I do love performing since I get paid to travel and I have so much fun every week,” he added.

On being a content creator, model, former gym owner, and performer in the digital age, he said, “It feels like a privilege, to be honest. This is the only way I can make a comeback so fast. That is helping my rise and my comeback even though I had fallen with my gym.”
Touring life
Wepener shared that he has been touring with Magic Men Australia and it has been going “phenomenal.” He is looking forward to touring New Zealand later this year, and Canada in 2023.
While the touring might be quite difficult and grueling on the body, he said that he “wouldn’t change it for the world.” “I absolutely love it,” he admitted. “We are going international for the very first time in New Zealand. Our very first international show will be on November 17 and 18 in New Zealand. I have my ‘Heartbreak Island’ cast coming to see the show with me.”
He is very excited to have his very own international calendar. “It feels phenomenal,” he said. “It has been out for less than a week and I’ve already had a worldwide audience, which is great. I will be taking the calendar out on tour with me, along with hoodies and clothing.” For more information on his international calendar, click here.
On the title of the current chapter of his life, Wepener said, “Redefining myself.” “A setback is always a set-up for a comeback, and I think I am making my comeback now,” he said.
