Young fitness professional, entrepreneur and social media sensation Carson Teagarden chatted about his fitness journey, faith, and the digital age.
Margaret Mead once said: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” This quote applies to Carson Teagarden.
On his inspiration to go into fitness, Teagarden said, “I have the motivation because I really want to be the best, and get better every day. I want to become the best and get better and bigger. Also, I am trying to show my social media followers what they can achieve with hard work. I want to show them what is achievable. I enjoy motivating others as well.”
“With my faith, I want to show people that I am a strong Christian, and how Christ has changed my life just like fitness has changed my life,” he added.
For young and aspiring fitness professionals, he encouraged them to “trust the process. Even though I have been doing this for three years now, I still have more progress and knowledge to get that will take so much longer. When you keep grinding, you are slowly going to see the results.”
“I made my first YouTube video six years ago, and I was nervous to even look at a camera, but each time I posted videos, I got better and better,” he added. “When I first started working out that changed my entire life. That has been life-changing and I am keeping at it.”
On being a fitness professional in the digital age, now with streaming, technology, and social media being so prevalent, Teagarden said, “I think it’s exciting. I really love YouTube, and I am looking forward to seeing what can happen in the future.”
He shared that he enjoys the Flappy Bird mobile game on social media. “Everybody loves Flappy Bird, that’s their favorite thing. I decided to do push-ups and pull-ups with it and it did well. Also, it is really fun for me because I am testing my strength and I am having fun with it at the same time,” he said.
On the title of the current chapter of his life, Teagarden responded, “Right now, I have a lot of plans for the future. The goal is to keep posting and growing my social media and do more workout programs. Also, I would like to get a personal training degree to train my followers or work at a gym.”
He noted that he started his clothing line for fun due to his faith and his strength. “I would like to turn it into a real brand someday. That would be fun,” he admitted.
When asked what track and field event he would do, he revealed that he is on the track team and he runs the sprints and does the long jump. In swimming, he listed the freestyle as his personal favorite stroke.
If he were to have any superpower, he would be the “Flash” because he is drawn to his speed. “That would be really fun since I like speed,” he said.
On his favorite motto to live by, he responded, “I live by anything that is in the Bible.”
In his spare time, he enjoys doing fitness, running, being in the woods, going to church, and hanging out with friends.
Teagarden defined the word success as “achieving his goals.” “Then, after I hit that goal or surpass it, I would set a new goal for the year,” he said.
For his dedicated supporters, he expressed, “Thank you so much for liking my videos and commenting. I put some time and I make these videos and people from all over the world are coming, watching, and enjoying them. That means a lot to me.”
Teagarden also took some time to answer a few “Rapid Fire” questions.
