NEW YORK – Calvin Klein Cosmetics Company salutes modern men and women with
a new print and television advertising campaign for the CONTRADICTION and
CONTRADICTION for men fragrances. Calvin Klein Cosmetics introduces Carolyn
Murphy as the new face of CONTRADICTION, while
Justin Chambers continues his role as the CONTRADICTION man. This campaign
celebrates the many dimensions of modern men and women … strong and
confident, yet provocative and playful.
The CONTRADICTION and CONTRADICTION for men television commercial
advertising begins airing in the US in May 2000, with International print
breaking in July 2000 and US print beginning in October 2000.
Created by Calvin Klein’s in-house ad agency CRK, this campaign was
shot in
New York City at Silvercup Studios. Renowned French photographer,
Jean-Baptiste Mondino, captured the shared bond between a man and a woman.
Mondino translates this relationship effortlessly to the print campaign and
on-screen in the television spots. Beginning his successful career as a
still
photographer, Mondino soon segued into the world of music videos; directing
videos for such artists as Sting, David Bowie, Lenny Kravitz and Madonna.
He
has also developed previous advertising campaigns for Calvin Klein and other
noted fashion designers such as Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior.
