Actress Fran Drescher to host 2015 Women’s Health Summit

This event will take place at the Skirball Center in Los Angeles, and it is a part of her Cancer Schmancer Movement, for which Drescher serves as president and visionary, which helps to ensure that all women with cancer are diagnosed in its first stage, when it is most curable.

It will be a full-day event for women who want to take control of their health, their bodies and their environment. Experts will be featured, where they will topic about such topics as integrative medicine, nutrition, positive thinking, empowerment and even detoxing their homes. Aside from women, men are also invited to attend this summit.

This is one cause that is dear to The Nanny actress’ heart, especially since the Key Gardens native is a uterine cancer survivor. Her mission with Cancer Schmancer is to shift the country’s focus from just looking for a cure to prevention and early detection of cancer, in an effort to help save people’s lives.

In mid-June of 2015, Drescher made a visit at the non-profit Project Renewal’s mobile mammography clinic, ScanVan, which is located at the Long Island City Health Center.

Drescher was very instrumental in getting the first Gynecologic Cancer Education and Awareness Act in U.S. history passed into law, and the two-time Emmy-nominated actress is using her celebrity status to speak to women worldwide about health issues, including emerging and third world countries.
