27 Emmy Statuettes On Display At Universal Studios

UNIVERSAL CITY – Emmy Award winning actress Camryn Manheim (“The Practice”) and Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS) President, Jim Chabin unveiled an unprecedented display of 27
Emmy statuettes delivered to Universal Studios Hollywood by armored motorcade to mark the Academy’s first-ever public viewing of the Awards.

Commemorating the event, Chabin also announced a roster of presenters in key categories for the 52nd annual Primetime Emmy and Universal Studios Hollywood revealed plans to host showcases for Emmy-nominated and new fall series in presentations to take place on Saturday, August 26.

The 27 Emmy statuettes (representing one for each Emmy category) are on public display in a custom designed case at Universal’s Globe Theatre through September 5 and will be manned by around-the-clock security.

On August 26 from 11am to 5pm Universal Studios Hollywood will stage a 30-minute presentation followed by an hour-long autograph signing session featuring the celebrity casts from CBS, FOX, Showtime’s Emmy nominated program and new Fall series, which include:


  • — “King of Queens” (CBS) — Kevin James and Leah Remini

  • — “Yes, Dear” (CBS) — Anthony Clark, Mike O’Malley and Liza Snyder

  • — “Malcolm in the Middle” (Fox) — Bryan Cranston, Craig Lamar Traylor and Justin Berfield.

  • — “Freakylinks” (Fox) — Ethan Embry

  • — “Resurrection Blvd.” (Showtime) — Daniel Zacapa, Tony Plana, Ruth Livier, Mauricio Mendoza, Michael DeLorenzo, Nicolas Gonzalez, Marisol Nichols.

To coincide with the 52nd annual Emmy Awards telecast, Universal Studios Hollywood has also created a special “Top Ten All Time Emmy Favorite” polling system inviting guests to cast their votes for their favorite Emmy Award winners from the past 30 years.

The 52nd Annual Emmy Awards will air live on ABC, Sunday Sept. 10 from 8:00-11:00 PM (ET). Garry Shandling, noted actor/comic/, will host this year’s Emmy Awards telecast.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS) was founded in 1946 just one month after network television was born. It is a non-profit organization devoted to the advancement of telecommunications arts and sciences and to fostering creative leadership in the telecommunications industry. In addition to recognizing outstanding programming through its Emmy Awards, ATAS publishes Emmy Magazine and is responsible for the Archive of American Television, the ATAS Foundation Library and the College Television Awards.
