Zedd releases new single ‘Stay’ with Alessia Cara

This song is a departure in musical style for both Zedd and Alessia Cara, contrasting an uplifting chorus with darker undertones that play into the vulnerability of the tune’s lyrics.

Both musicians met at the HALO Awards in 2016, where Zedd recalled in a press statement, “I’d loved her songs before but realized that she’s an unbelievable talent when we started rehearsing together.” Zedd then sent Cara a demo and they scheduled time in the studio to record the single together. Cara complimented Zedd by noting that he was “really hands on” and he really “made sure I was involved in every part of the process.”

On April 3, Zedd will take the stage for WELCOME!, a fund-raising concert that he organized to benefit the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), where all of the proceeds go towards the organization. He will be joined by such artists as Bebe Rexha, Daya, Halsey, Imagine Dragons, Incubus, Machine Gun Kelly, Macklemore, Miguel, Skrillex and Tinashe, among others.

Aside from his work as a solo artist, Zedd has produced for many of the biggest names in music industry, which include Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga, among others.

“Stay” is available on iTunes and on Spotify.
