World renowned DJ Ferry Corsten talks new EP and electronic music (Includes interview)

Regarding the song selection approach for Hello World EP II, Corsten said, “The concept of Hello World is to allow myself to explore my creativity as a music producer, whereas I focused on vocal tracks on the first EP, when selecting the tracks I produced on my second EP, I wanted something more club-oriented.”

When asked about his personal favorite track on the EP, he said, “I definitely love all the tracks on the album but one that is a personal favorite of mine is Homeward.’ Touring and playing is a lot fun and I’m absolutely blessed to be able to do this as my job, but a lot of people don’t see that it is also a tough job with a lot of sleepless nights and traveling daily. ‘Homeward’ was a track I made when I was excited to go back home and see my family.”

On his ‘Full On North American Tour,’ he said, “I am really excited about the upcoming ‘Full On’ tour. I always love playing with Cosmic Gate, Super8 & Tab and Adrian Lux. Playing with them back-to-back on the past ‘Full On’ shows hase been fun. I’m looking forward to playing with Pierce Fulton on selected dates as well.”

He is drawn to the electronic dance music scene, especially since it is “just one crazy family,” and he is happy to be a part of it. His plans for the future include working on his new Hello World EP No. 3.

On June 26, Corsten performed at Pacha NYC, which was a great deal of fun for the Dutch DJ and producer. “I always look forward to going back to Pacha,” he said.

When asked where he sees electronic dance music in the next five years, he responded, “I’ve noticed a bigger hunger for trance for more musical variations of dance music. I truly believe that the days of big room EDM are numbered as we can only take so much of ‘put your f hands up’.”

Each day, Corsten is motivated by his love for music. “Everyday, I wake up with a smile on my face, happy to go to the studio and enjoy my job,” he said.

Corsten shared the fact that throughout his career, he was afforded the privilege to perform in Greece. “I did a while back and I love that place. In fact, I spent my honeymoon there. It’s a beautiful country with passionate people,” he said.

For his loyal fans, he concluded, “Thank you for supporting and following me all these years.”
