He is drawn to electronic dance music since it gives him a “sensation of drive and happiness” and almost every emotion.
Sparks hope to release albums in the future and subsequently have successful tours, where he will be able to bring his music to his fans out on the road.
On August 15, he will be performing at Marquee Nightclub in New York City. “Marquee is so iconic,” he said. “I’m that keen. Only heard amazing things, so I’m excited to see.”
Throughout his career in the music industry, Sparks has been hailed as one of Billboard Magazine’s most exciting young talents. He scored a residency at XS Las Vegas, a gig at Jay-Z’s “Made In America” festival, a headlining spot at Paradise Ibiza and a set at the world’s biggest Electronic Dance Music (EDM) festival, Tomorrowland.
Aside from these aforementioned proud accomplishments, another moment that stands out for Sparks includes being one of the main headliners at Stereosonic in 2014. “It didn’t even cross my mind two years ago. That was surreal,” he said.
Each day, Sparks is motivated by working out, being healthy and smashing out tracks whenever possible. “Nothing better than making something you’re vibing.
On this year’s DJ Magazine Top 100 DJs poll, he said, “I say it every year, music isn’t a competition, everyone is unique for who they are, so being judged by a poll doesn’t phase me at all. It’ll be awesome if I get in though, and I appreciate everyone who takes time out to vote. It’s just a business though.”
When asked where he sees electronic dance music in the next five years, he responded, “Hard to say, but I hope it keeps growing and evolving for the better.”
He listed Missy Elliott, Sia and Ellie Goulding as his dream female collaboration choices in music. For Sparks, the word success in life means “love and passion,” especially since it equates to “happiness and success.”
