Actor Walter Fauntleroy chatted about being a part of Season 4 of “The Oval” on BET.

He spoke about playing Secret Service Agent Sam Owen in the hit BET series “The Oval,” which is the No. 1 show on cable. It is executive produced, created, written, and directed by Tyler Perry. “Being a part of ‘The Oval’ feels like a dream, and I hope it never ends like ‘Alice in Wonderland.’ I am grateful to Tyler Perry and all of my cast-mates and the crew,” he exclaimed, prior to thanking the fans of “The Oval.”

“The success of the show is a testament to who Tyler Perry is,” he added. “On many levels, I just trusted the process. Now, that I am here and on the show, and the fans are loving it, and we are loving it, I think that’s all a testament to all of the hard work we’ve all put into it. We are reaping the harvest of that now, and that’s incredible. At the end of the day, I am very grateful to Tyler Perry.”

“What I love about Sam is that he is an extension of myself. I see my father, who was a military man, and Sam is more poised. I combined him and the way I saw my father and I merged the two to create the character so it was fun to step into their skin,” he said.

Fauntleroy had great words about working with Taja V. Simpson, who plays Priscilla, his on-screen wife, as well as actors Brad Benedict and Bill Barrett. “Taja is the consummate professional,” he said. “Taja comes in very strong and you know you can trust her.”

“Brad Benedict and Bill Barrett are consummate professionals as well. They are both very committed to the story and the truth to what we are telling,” he said.

“There is also a regalness to Ptosha Storey, she is like a flower that has blossomed beautifully. It is good to see her success,” he added.

On being an actor in the digital age, he said, “It’s a lot different than when I was growing up. I do like the fact that we are in this age and things are a lot more accessible. I do miss the cording process. I miss the audition process. When I used to see other celebrities in the room that made me feel uncomfortably comfortable, and that helps you whether you get the role or not.”

Most recently, he appeared in The Man Cave Chronicles with host Elias Giannakopoulos. “Elias is the man, he was excellent. It was really great to chat with him,” he said.

On his definition of the word success, he said, “Success is entering into the endeavor of your calling, whatever that is.”

“Thank you to all the fans out there. I really appreciate you all chiming in all the time,” he concluded. “I am glad that the fans are enjoying every storyline on the show. We are completely grateful to you and please keep tuning in.”
