On their new track “Long Way Down,” they said, “We where actually listening to a track from Darren and really got inspired, so decided to message him to see if he was up for a collaboration, then he immediately replied with a vocal he just got from Giin. At that point, we got super excited. He sent us the vocal and other stems and we started working on it back and forth. In the end, we just managed to have a playable version for Tomorrowland last summer. The rest is history.”
When asked what they love most about electronic music, W&W said, “We just grew up with it and fell in live with the genre. When we started producing we also found out that possibilities are endless. There is basically no limit to what you can do with sounds in an electronic way.”
On their future plans, they said, “This industry is such a fast one that we always have to change plans, but we still plan ahead of course. For now we have a couple of tracks we are testing out for W&W and NWYR as well, and planning the releases. Following that, we are working on something special for after the summer, but we can’t say anything more about it yet.”
“Globally, electronic music is still growing,” they said. “Although a big part of it went more back to the underground again it actually feels more like a healthy scene now. It will always go in waves though, and waves are different on all the continents as well. So where it is at exactly five years from now is really not predictable, but we are sure it will never fade away.”
W&W listed global music star Adele as their dream female collaboration choice in music. “It would definitely be Adele. She has the most powerful and emotional voice of our time in our opinion. Anything she sings is just gold,” they said.
For aspiring DJs and producers, they encouraged them to be creative and to never give up. “Learn technique by remaking songs, but once you know how it all works you should completely focus on trying to be original and stand out,” they explained.
“We would like to thank the fans for the massive support we got over the years in general and also for being so open about side steps we take like ‘Long Way Down’,” they said. “It is safe and easy to always stick to your own sound and not take side steps from it, but we love to be creative and try to collaborate with artists from different genres as well to combine the best of both worlds. Our fans are luckily very open to this as well.”
“Long Way Down” is available on iTunes and on Spotify.
