Ted, the raunchy comedy movie starring Mark Wahlberg (The Basketball Diaries, Fear, The Italian Job, Boogie Nights, Three Kings, Four Brothers, and I Heart Huckabees) and Seth McFarlane (Family Guy, American Dad, The Cleveland Show, A Million Ways To Die In The West, and Movie 43), is getting a sequel titled Ted 2 and is scheduled to hit theaters on June 26th.
You can see the first trailer streamed for the upcoming film, which also stars Amanda Seyfried and Morgan Freeman.
Wahlberg and McFarlane respectively reprise their roles as John Bennett and the titular Ted and go on a new adventure together. Ted and his former co-worker Tami-Lynn have gotten married, but there is a snag in the “starting a family” department.
Ted, being an animated teddy bear, lacks the necessary tools for sexual reproduction. In layman speak for the ignorant people too good to allow their minds to sink into the gutter, Ted lacks a sausage and a pair of meatballs.
The newlywed couple is smart enough to think about surrogacy as Ted asks John to help him out, which means John was asked to donate his sperm.
Problem solved, right? Sadly not for Ted and Tami-Lynn because they are slapped with a legal notice, which Ted must prove to the court that he is an actual person. The adventure turns into an iconic legal battle to prove Ted is “human.”
Ted and John hire lawyer Samantha Leslie Jackson, played by Seyfried, who agrees to handle their case. It seems likely that Samantha will become John’s new love interest. The court battle turns an iconic civil rights case that attracts the interest of a big time civil rights laywer, played by Freeman.
Ted 2 centers on Ted learning what it means to be “human,” though John’s not necessarily a good influence in that department.
The movie will also star Liam Neeson, Richard Schiff, Patrick Warburton, Michael Dorn, David Hasselhoff, and Nana Visitor.
