If you love watching musical anime series, keep an eye out on Sound! Euphonium, which is scheduled to air in Japan sometime in April. It is unknown when in April that Sound! Euphonium will be airing, but it will likely stream internationally depending on whom acquires the regional licenses.
Sound! Euphonium will likely stream internationally on Hulu regardless of who acquires the North American license.
If FUNimation acquires the North American license, it will be available on its own streaming service.
If anybody else acquires the North American license, then Sound! Euphonium may end up streaming on Crunchyroll.
Kyoto Animation, the studio behind the production of Sound! Euphonium, has streamed a full-length trailer that introduces the four characters of the principal cast. The cast consists of Kumiko Omae, Hazuki Kato, Sapphire Kawashima, and Reina Kosaka.
They are members of Kitauji High School’s musical instrument club, which has never passed through the Kansai tournament because of the change in advisers. That is now going to change because the club has a new adviser, who has implemented strict and really needed instruction.
The four girls are members of the brass instruments club, with Kumiko playing the titular euphonium.
Hazuki plays the tuba even though she wanted to play the trumpet, Sapphire plays the contraband, and Reina plays the trumpet.
While this is an anime about music, Sound! Euphonium is an everyday drama that shows the ups and downs of the school’s club.
This is similar to anime series like Your Lie In April, which is currently airing, and Kids on the Slope.
You can catch new episodes of Your Lie In April on Crunchyroll every Wednesday. You can check out my review of the latest episode of Your Lie In April here.
