Horror fans have the first episode of Resident Evil: Revelations 2 to look forward to and Capcom has streamed a “drama trailer” for the upcoming release, which lets everybody know that new episodes will be released every other week.
The game seemingly takes place sometime after Resident Evil 5 or Resident Evil 6.
It has been a long time since Claire Redfield and Barry Burton have been in a Resident Evil title.
Claire’s last appearance, not counting the starring role in Resident Evil: Degeneration, was in Resident Evil: Code Veronica for the Sega Dreamcast.
Barry hasn’t officially been seen since Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, but Resident Evil: Revelations 2 marks the first game that he is playable in a canonical capacity.
The story centers on the nongovernmental organization (NGO) known as TerraSave, introduced in RE: Degeneration, that Claire joined prior to Resident Evil 4. Claire chose political activism and nonviolence to fight against the use of B.O.Ws.
That contrasts with Leon’s governmental work and her brother Chris’ military work.
Claire and newcomer Moira Burton, Barry’s daughter, attend a welcoming party in the latter’s honor before a mysterious paramilitary group crashes the party. The duo is taken hostage and placed on a remote island reminiscent of Rockfort Island in RE: CV.
Barry learns that Moira went missing and goes on his own adventure, where he joins up with a mysterious young girl named Natasha Korda. Barry and Natasha must work together to survive their own adventure.
Episode one, titled “Penal Colony,” centers on Claire and Moira.
Episode two, titled “Contemplation,” centers on Barry and Natasha. The trailer shows that Natasha will meet Claire and Moira.
Episode three, titled “Judgment,” centers on Barry, Claire, and Moira.
Episode four, titled “Metamorphosis,” centers on everybody. There is an obvious reference to Albert Wesker, a known recurring antagonist in the series. The trailer suggests that Natasha may have some history with Wesker.
