Video: ‘Mortal Kombat X’ Kitana’s variations trailer

You are royally s—t out of luck if you were hoping that Jade was going to return for the upcoming Mortal Kombat X.

All previous trailers for Mortal Kombat X and the recent comic books in the DC Comics imprint revealed that Mortal Kombat 9’s story mode was not entirely canonical. One of the previous comics had shown that Sub-Zero did not get converted into a cyborg and the scar came from Kano, who was busy evading the Red Dragons.

Jax, who was killed by Sindel in the story mode, is revealed to be alive and well in the Mortal Kombat X comics.

It is important to note that the comics set up for the game’s story, which takes place over a span of 25 years.

The newest Mortal Kombat X trailer centers on Kitana’s three game play styles: Royal Storm, Assassin, and Mournful. Jade fans need to play close attention to Kitana’s “Mournful” variation.

Royal Storm centers on long-range offensive and defensive attacks, which is effective against characters that specialize in close-range attacks. This would be excellent to use against Kano’s Commando variation, which centers on close-range strikes and grappling attacks.

Assassin centers on quick rush and close-range attacks.

Mournful does away with Kitana’s fans and replaces them with Jade’s weapons. Kitana’s third variation gives the obvious hint that Jade has died. This fighting variation allows Kitana to fight exactly like Jade in the previous games.

Look forward to Mortal Kombat X on April 14th.

It is apparent that Kitana is still fighting the good fight and her existence proves that Mortal Kombat 9’s story mode is not completely canonical. Kitana, like Jax and Jade, was killed at the hands of Queen Sindel in Mortal Kombat 9.
