Video: ‘Halo — Nightfall’ VOD trailer

Did you know that 343 Industries created a TV miniseries titled Halo: Nightfall?

The series was released as part of the Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary compilation set, which came out last year just in time for Thanksgiving Day. If you didn’t get a copy of the compilation title, you still could have watched this five-part miniseries on Halo TV.

A new trailer for Halo: Nightfall reveals that the mini-series will be available via video on demand come March 17th.

That means it could be available on any popular streaming service like Netflix, Amazon Prime Instant Video, Hulu, Vudu, Redbox, Google Play, and other notable services. Halo: Nightfall will also be available on DVD and Blu-Ray, too.

Ridley Scott serves as the executive producer for Halo: Nightfall.

Scott has an extensive list of credits to his name as director and producer.

His director credits include Alien, Blade Runnier, 1492: Conquest of Paradise, G.I. Jane, Gladiator, Hannibal, Black Hawk Down, Matchstick Men, Kingdom of Heaven, Body of Lies, Robin Hood, Prometheus, American Gangster, and Exodus: Gods and Kings.

His producer credits include Thelma & Louise, Monkey Trouble, White Squall, G.I. Jane, RKO 281, The Last Debate, Orpheus, Tristan + Isolde, Kingdom of Heaven, Numb3rs, The A-Team, The Good Wife, and The Man in the High Castle.

The Man in the High Castle is one of the new TV series up for vote in this year’s Amazon Pilot Season.

Halo: Nightfall will set up the story for the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians, which is scheduled to release later this year. The mini-series centers on ONI commander Jameson Locke, a major character in Halo 5: Guardians, tasked with investigating a terrorist attack.

Locke learns that the terrorists have a biological weapon capable of wiping out mankind.

He and his team are joined by the mysterious Aiken, a former Spartan, both a valuable asset and a dangerous liability.

Halo fans can look forward to Halo: Nightfall on March 17th.

Steven Waddington (The Tudors, Arn: The Knight Templar, Garrow’s Law, Waterloo Road, and The Imitation Game) will play Aiken.

Mike Colter (The Following, American Horror Story, Ringer, Blue Bloods, and The Good Wife) will star as Commander Locke. He is going to be very busy this year due to being cast as Luke Cage in the upcoming Marvel live-action series that will be exclusive to Netflix.

Colter will play Cage in Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones, Marvel’s Luke Cage, and Marvel’s The Defenders. He will be working with Krysten Ritter and David Tennant, respectively, as the titular Jessica Jones and Purple Man in A.K.A. Jessica Jones.

He will be working with Charlie Cox, cast as Daredevil in Marvel’s Daredevil, in Marvel’s The Defenders.
