The role of video editing within the entertainment industry is one of immense priority, often standing as a pillar of creativity and storytelling. Behind every exquisite film, music video, or advertisement, a skilled editor has shaped the narrative and set the pace to evoke emotion and thought-provoking conversation. One such expert in the editing suite is video editor Aaron Bencid, a Venezuelan-born artist whose passion for filmmaking has led him to become a sought-after professional throughout the industry.

Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Bencid’s journey to the heart of the entertainment world was fueled by a deep-seated love for cinema. Growing up, he was immersed in a world of films, thanks to his uncle, who owned a local video store. This early exposure ignited a fire in him, prompting Bencid to create short films and music videos with friends using nothing but low-budget video cameras and a shared vision.

Pursuing a filmmaking career brought Bencid to Los Angeles. It was here that he honed his craft and collaborated with talented directors and producers who would later become influential figures in the advertising industry. Throughout his career, Bencid has worked with numerous artists and companies, leaving a lasting mark on each project. He collaborated with Marco Prestini and Malcolm Duncan on films for the high fashion brand Golden Goose Deluxe Brand, and together with Marco, he crafted one of Tierra Whack’s first music videos for the song “Mumbo Jumbo,” which received critical acclaim and a nomination for Best Music Video at the 61st Grammy Awards.

In his early twenties, Bencid joined Rosewood, a full-service creative agency, where he served as the lead editor and colorist for its Apple Music team. Here, he worked on projects for internationally acclaimed artists such as Christina Aguilera, Janelle Monae, The Chainsmokers, Charlie Puth, Years & Years, and others. Bencid’s incredible talent and dedication have not gone unnoticed, earning him recognition and awards for his projects, including music videos for Kygo and Alina Baraz, which have amassed millions of views and garnered praise from both industry insiders and audiences. His work has been featured on platforms like MTV, Billboard, and W Magazine, further setting his status as a genuine visionary.

Throughout his career, Bencid has collaborated with prominent companies such as Virgin Soil Pictures, AP Studio, Her Productions, Hyperion, Wildchild, and Strangelove. His work with Virgin Soil Pictures includes the immensely successful music videos for Kygo, directed by Sarah Bahbah, including “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” featuring Tina Turner, “Not OK,” and “Think About You,” all of which have garnered over 100 million views total.

Additionally, Bencid’s projects with Golden Goose Deluxe Brand, also with Virgin Soil Pictures, and a worldwide campaign for the e-commerce store Farfetch have showcased his ability to elevate brands through enthralling storytelling. One of his standout projects, “We Are The Ones” for My Brother’s Keeper Alliance through Wildchild, featured former President Barack Obama, Stephen Curry, and Chance, The Rapper, underlining Bencid’s skill in working with high-profile personalities.

Bencid’s direct impact extends beyond music videos, as he has also worked on short films for Sarah Bahbah, titled I____ YOU and Untangled, through Hyperion, highlighting his adaptability and creativity across multiple mediums. His work with Alina Baraz for AP Studio and performances for Ty Dolla $ign on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel Live further cement his reputation as a versatile and accomplished editor.

Looking ahead, Aaron Bencid sees himself continuing to push the boundaries of visual storytelling, collaborating with top-tier talent, and working on projects that resonate with audiences. As he continues to evolve his craft, one thing remains certain: Bencid is an undeniable star in the wide world of video editing and a professional of extraordinary abilities whose impact on the industry is nothing short of remarkable.
