Shin Megami Tensei fans should know that Devil Survivor 2: Break Record, the enhanced version of Devil Survivor 2, will release in North America on May 5th. You can buy the game digitally through the online store or physically at any retail shop as they both will cost $50.
Devil Survivor 2: Break Record recently came out in Japan on January 29th.
ATLUS USA has streamed the official story trailer showing that the North American release will have English language audio.
Devil Survivor 2: Break Record will be available for the Nintendo 3DS.
The game plays like the original Nintendo DS version, but adds animated sequences.
Devil Survivor 2 follows a similar plot dynamic that was used for Devil Survivor, centering on the concept of preventing your own death. There is a timer that counts down the days until your inevitable death, but you have the choice to change your fate and survive.
Earth is attacked by mysterious beings known as the Septentriones and you are humanity’s only hope in defeating them. You and other select people use the Nicaea in-game mobile application to learn when people are going to die. The app is also used to purchase and fuse Demons that will aid you in combat.
You can ultimately choose to save humanity or let it perish, but you have different directions to go if you choose the former.
Devil Survivor 2: Break Record adds an additional new storyline with 40 extra hours of game play. You will have an additional playable character in Miyako Hotsuin, Yamato’s sister, who will appear in the story story that centers on a new threat known as the Triangulum.
The Triangulum Arc takes place after the main story.
An attractive part of this game is that you are allowed to skip right to the Triangulum Arc instead of having to play through the main storyline.
Shin Megami Tensei fans have plenty to look forward to in May, but it is unknown if the North American release will have a special cross promotion with Dengeki Bunko’s Durarara!!
It will release in North America as Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker.
