Emmy award-winning actress Victoria Konefal (“Days of our Lives”) chatted about starring in the horror thriller “Scared to Death.”

The synopsis is: Jasper (Olivier Paris), a young filmmaker, seizes a chance to direct when his crew attends a seance in a haunted children’s shelter. Trapped inside, they’re haunted by ghostly orphans and a sinister force.

On being a part of “Scared to Death,” she said, “That was a really fun project to shoot! To have it come out in theaters is even cooler. I’ve never had a movie come out in theaters (on film or screen) before, and seeing my name up there was really fun.”

“The screenplay taught me how to develop friendships that weren’t necessarily scripted,” she reflected. “We formed this bond and we had this camaraderie off-screen that translated on screen, I think.”

“So, it was fun to discover and explore the depth of that relationship that wasn’t necessarily scripted,” she added.

Working with Lin Shaye in ‘Scared to Death’

On working with Emmy winner Lin Shaye, Konefal remarked, “Lin Shaye is incredible! When I found out she was attached to the project, I was so excited. The ‘Insidious’ series is one of my favorites in horror, and I just love horror. It’s a genre that I have always appreciated.”

“Knowing that I was going to work with her was amazing. I learned so much working with her. Lin is a force and she is so fearless. It was a pleasure to watch her work,” she added.

Working with Peter Reckell on ‘Days of our Lives’

On getting a chance to work with the iconic Peter Reckell on “Days of our Lives” as her on-screen father Bo Brady, she said, “I always wanted to work with him because I knew the legacy of Bo. For the longest time, Bo’s character was presumed dead, so I didn’t think there would ever be a possibility to work with him.”

“It was so beautiful to get to give the fans that Ciara and Bo father and daughter moment,” she acknowledged.

“Overall, it was such an honor and so cool to get to work with Peter. Also, it’s something that the fans had wanted for a while, and they appreciated that a lot too,” she added.

Future plans

On her future plans, she shared, “Paul Boyd, the director of ‘Scared to Death,’ and I are in talks in doing another thriller and horror movie, which is more on the grungier and deeper side.

“Also, I am actually in per-production on my first-ever musical album. I am coming out with a rock album by the end of the year,” she admitted.

“I would love to go back to Salem at some point. I am not opposed! I would love to revisit Ciara Brady because she is a huge part of my career and the shaping of who I am. I miss her. I would love to play her again,” she elaborated.

Stage of her life

On the title of the current chapter of her life, Konefal revealed, “Moving Forward.”

“I am feeling momentum,” she admitted. “I am also fearless, especially as I am embarking on my music journey.”

Superpower of choice

On her superpower of choice, she stated, “I would love to fly; that is something I wanted my whole life. I would also to time travel, so that I can learn and experience more things for myself.”

Success

Regarding her definition of the word success, Konefal said, “Success means not giving up on yourself. Success is putting yourself first and being there for yourself and having faith.”

Message for her fans

For her fans and supporters, she expressed, “Thank you for supporting me throughout all these years. I feel all your love and support, and I’ve never stopped feeling it after all these years. I appreciate you more than you know.”

Closing thoughts on ‘Scared to Death’

Konefal remarked about “Scared to Death,” “I want the fans to have fun. It’s a horror film but it’s also a comedy. It’s a nice mix of both; it’s half and half.”

“I want the fans to watch with the expectation to have a blast. I want them to laugh, jump, and cry. Ultimately, I want them to have fun with it,” she concluded.
