Actress Victoria Konefal chatted with Digital Journal’s Markos Papadatos about her 2021 Daytime Emmy win, and she opened up about working with Robert Scott Wilson and Brandon Beemer.
Konefal took home the 2021 Daytime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Younger Performer in a Drama Series” for playing Ciara Brady in “Days of Our Lives” on NBC. “The Emmy win felt amazing,” she admitted. “It was really nice.”
She had great words about working with Robert Scott Wilson (who plays her love interest Ben Weston), and Brandon Beemer who plays her onscreen brother, Shawn Douglas-Brady. “It’s really good to work with them. I get along with both of them really well,” she said. “Rob and I have been married on the show for several years now, and Brandon was one of the first people I ever worked with on the show because he plays my brother.”
Wilson and Konefal make up the “Days of Our Lives” super-couple #Cin (Ciara and Ben).
She also had kind words about working with Kristian Alfonso, who played her onscreen mother, Hope Brady.
On August 28 and 29, Konefal will be a part of the “Celebration 2021” Star Struck fan event in Rhode Island, where she will be joined by such co-stars as Billy Flynn, Eric Martsolf, Judi Evans, Matthew Ashford, and Bryan Datillo. We can’t wait to put a smile on their faces,” she said.
Later in the year, on December 4 and 5, Konefal will be a part of yet another Star Struck fan event titled “Winter Wonderland,” this time in Clearwater Beach, Florida. I want to make the fans happy and give them something exciting to look forward to towards the end of the year.”
Aside from “Days of Our Lives,” Konefal will also be playing the role of Georgia Paige in “Living Dead Presents: Fog City.” “I filmed that over six years ago,” she admitted. “It will be interesting for me to watch that, and see a younger version of myself in it. I am excited but at the same time, I am a little nervous.”
On the title of the current chapter of her life, she said, “Celebration.” “I have been celebrating and celebrating and I am holding on to this moment for as long as I can,” she said.
She listed Oscar winners Meryl Streep, Sandra Bullock, and Reese Witherspoon as the three actresses that she would love to someday work with as her dream acting partners.
Konefal acknowledged that the quarantine was an “incredible time” for her in regard to her growth. “I picked up playing the guitar, I spent a lot of time in nature where I disconnected from social media and my phone. I really valued the time that I had with myself,” she said. “I am very grateful for everything that happened to me during this time. I came out on the other side a much more improved version of myself.”
On the best advice that she was ever given, she said, “It’s simple but it speaks volumes: don’t take anything too seriously. Whether it’s good or bad, take everything like a grain of salt.”
Regarding her definition of the word success, she said, “Winning is an Emmy is a major success, but I wouldn’t put so much weight on awards in terms of success.”
“Success means being proud of yourself and proud of the work you’ve done,” she added. “If you walk around with a good head on your shoulders no matter what you accomplish in life, that’s the most significant level of success that you can achieve.”
If she were to ever go on “The Masked Singer,” she revealed that her outfit choice would be the “phoenix.” “I would dress up as a phoenix because I can identify with its symbolism, where it is reborn from the ashes stronger than ever. That is a strong characteristic of mine that I hold onto dearly,” she explained.
For her dedicated #Cin fans, she remarked, “The fans have been diehard from the very beginning, which is wild to think about. Thank you to the fans, times a million. I have so much love for them. They are so supportive, especially the ones I see on Instagram.”
