Vessbroz talk about ‘Gravity,’ music, and dream duet choices (Includes interview)

On the concept for “Gravity,” they said, “We first came out with an instrumental version which was totally different and then we sent it to Michelle, She came out with these amazing lyrics, and then we totally changed the production to something new. We added a new melody, chord progression, and Persian drums and that is how ‘Gravity’ was born.”

Regarding their music and songwriting inspirations, they said, “We are inspired by our Persian culture and also we look up to other EDM Producers as well as some old pop hits to get inspiration. We listen to all different genres of music.”

On life during the quarantine, they said, “Well, we tried our best to use all this free time. Firstly we improved our production skills by watching lots of tutorials and then we made 25 songs, some are still under production. Also, we are trying to get fitter and more muscular by training harder.”

They are drawn to electronic music for a variety of reasons: “The fact that we could make music just with a laptop from anywhere, even from our toilet and express our feeling through this electronic music with fans and hopefully create special and memorable moments for them.”

When asked about their dream duet choices in music, Armia said, “For me, I would love to have Billie Eilish’s voice in our songs, and for my brother, Arsham, he would love to work with Justin Timberlake.”

For young and aspiring DJs and producers, they said, “The best advice that I could give is what we got from Mark Otten (mentor and coach of Martin Garrix and other students including Julian Jordan and Firebeatz). He said you have to reach to the point that having enough confidence to decide what is good or bad for your own music and trust your own judgment because that never lies.”

On their definition of the word success, they said, “To us, success means being your own god. That means to write your own destiny exactly in the way you want your life to be.”

They concluded about “Gravity,” “It is a story we all can relate to. We all had dreams when we were kids and the ideal world for all of us is when we live in our dream life, which you could call, your own paradise. We changed this song so many times to make sure we are sending this message in the best possible way, as this song was and still is so special for us.”
